"do you know what's worth fighting for?"
War does not achieve any good, even with whatever good reasons to start one. (examples: religion, ideas)
In other words, there are no good reasons to wage a war.
But there are certain parties who remain with broken hearts, as others finish off, these types of "beggars' wounds". They feel like getting the utmost revenge out of them who had given a cure to the "wound".
I like GreenDay, not only because they got tattoos all over their skins, they got sexy and 'tiny thighed' models in their videos, they use mastered video effects to add value to their videos. But they talk the truth. They sing the truth. They try their level best to make others understand it, using a powerful medium, and that's MUSIC!
Enjoy.... Sing while your watching. Sing for yourself, don't worry about your listeners, coz they won't give a shit as they don't get the meaning....
Do you know what's worth fighting for?
When it's not worth dying for?
Does it take your breath away
And you feel yourself suffocating?
Does the pain weigh out the pride?
And you look for a place to hide?
Did someone break your heart inside?
You're in ruins
One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky, you and I
When you're at the end of the road
And you lost all sense of control
And your thoughts have taken their toll
When your mind breaks the spirit of your soul
Your faith walks on broken glass
And the hangover doesn't pass
Nothing's ever built to last
You're in ruins
One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight
One, 21 guns
Throw up your arms into the sky, you and I
Did you try to live on your own
When you burned down the house and home?
Did you stand too close to the fire
Like a liar looking for forgiveness from a stone?
When it's time to live and let die
And you can't get another try
Something inside this heart has died
You're in ruins
One, 21 guns
Lay down your arms, give up the fight

Throw up your arms into the sky

Its probably about 2 people: Gloria and Christian, that are stuck in the era where Bush was still president (since these songs weren't written during Obama's time). They are dealing with all the chaos of war and terrorist attacks all mixed in with the economy issues. All the while, Gloria deals with a break up(did someone break you're heart inside? You're in ruins). But Christian meets her and they fall in love. But during a terrorist attack, Gloria is killed and Christian is left alone. 21 Guns is refering to the 21 gun salute. And after she dies, Christian is scared and confused also wishing that either they would've taked him instead or taking him with her.
ReplyDeleteeh..I think this says about two people in the present Sri Lanka....
